🚰 Pipe Repairs & Leak Fixes

Pipes under sinks, baths, and in hidden places can start to leak or block over time — especially if waste starts to build up inside. What starts as a slow drain or a faint drip can quickly turn into a full-on leak, causing water damage behind cupboards, under floors, or even through ceilings.

At PlumbRepair, we deal with these issues quickly and properly. We’ll clean out or replace old, worn, or blocked pipework to keep your water flowing safely to the drains, without causing damage behind the scenes.

Common Pipe Problems We Fix:

  • Leaks under kitchen or bathroom sinks

  • Waste pipes blocked by grease or food build-up

  • Hot and cold pipes that have cracked or come loose

  • Pipe joints that have started to drip slowly

  • Outdoor pipework with frost damage

Winter Warnings: Insulate Where You Can

Pipes that run through lofts, garages, or external walls can sometimes fracture during very cold weather. If we spot vulnerable pipework, we’ll always recommend adding insulation — it’s a simple fix that could save you from a burst pipe and a costly repair down the line.

Preventing Problems Before They Start

Even if you’re careful, everyday use can cause waste to build up inside your pipes — especially from grease, soap, and food scraps. Over time, that leads to slow drainage and unpleasant smells.

We don’t recommend using bleach or caustic liquids to clear blockages — harsh chemicals can damage the rubber washers and seals inside your pipework, leading to more serious leaks later on.

If needed, we’ll flush and clean the pipes properly or replace sections that are past their best.

Pipes underneath sinks can gradually become blocked over time, resulting in water building up and eventually flooding. It is therefore important to make sure only appropriate liquids are put through your pipes at all times.

With time, however careful one can be, waste products will gradually build up and cause blockages. We will clean out your pipes or replace them, to ensure water runs freely to the outside drains without any problems.

Hot and cold pipes can also fracture, especially with atmospheric conditions. We always recommend covering pipes with insulation whenever possible to cut down the risk of your pipes bursting.

We do not recommend the use of bleach or caustic liquids down a sink, because this can perish the washers, which are important seals in your pipework to stop water leaking. Serious damage can be caused, especially even by a small leak; over time, can cause wood rot and ceiling to fall down.

A Small Leak Can Do Big Damage

Even a slow drip can cause serious issues if left alone — like damp, rot, or damaged ceilings. If you’re seeing water marks, hearing gurgling noises, or noticing a smell coming from under the sink or bath, it’s worth getting it checked sooner rather than later.
